Duke University School of Nursing, Harriet Cook Carter Lecture

The 60th annual Harriet Cook Carter Lecture will discuss, “The costs of health Inequities” on Wednesday, February 22.

Health inequities now cost the U.S. health care system about $320 billion and if not addressed by 2040, their cost is projected to reach an unsustainable $1 trillion. Join Dean Guilamo-Ramos for a fascinating discussion about the causes and possible solutions for health inequities with special guest experts from Deloitte’s Center for Health Solutions and Health Equity Institute. Topics will include the role of nursing in addressing health inequities and how new regulations, financing models and technology can help expand health care access and reduce costs. AACN Launches New Leadership Education Modules: Lead with Ethics, Intention and Purpose

This resource was developed for nursing professionals at all levels, including those aspiring to leadership roles.

This on-demand modules series offers guidance and practical strategies on how to navigate real-world challenges and amplify your effectiveness. Content is designed to stimulate fresh thinking and provide solutions to some of your most pressing challenges.  Modules will enrich your understanding of key principles and practices needed for leaders to succeed in the academic arena.  Those that complete all 4 modules are eligible to receive 11.5 credit hours.

AHNCC GAHN Film Series for CE

Beginning Tuesday, January 31 at 7 PM, the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC) and the Global Academy of Holistic Nursing (GAHN) are partnering to offer a six-documentary series that explores the spiritual dimensions of addiction recovery, healing and reconciliation in different marginalized populations. The cost for all six documentaries and nine CEs is $50. Find out more about the monthly series and obtaining education credits.

A series of six documentary movies created by TouchPoint Productions, will be shown the last Tuesday in each month, January 2023 – June 2023. The viewing, approximately 30 minutes long, will be followed by a 60-minute discussion with an expert working with the specific population. The discussion will be facilitated by a panel; attendees can participate by submitting questions through Zoom Chat. The entire event will be recorded for registrants to review post-presentation. CNE’s will be provided for nurses who complete and submit the evaluation form for each individual event.
