What is your favorite DU Nursing memory?

My favorite DU nursing memory from this past year was being able to assist with administration of COVID vaccines during my Population Health clinical. After nearly a year into the pandemic, it was incredible to take part in keeping my community safe.

Why did you choose to attend Duquesne University?

I chose to attend Duquesne because of its regarded reputation as a nursing program and the ability to earn my bachelor’s degree in only 12 months.

What was your biggest achievement as a DU Nursing student?

My biggest achievement as a DU nursing student was being able to adapt to the unknowns of the pandemic (online classes, online clinicals) while maintaining Dean’s List status and still working part time.

What words of advice do you have for other students on how to make the most of the Duquesne Nursing experience?

There are so many resources to help you succeed — use them!

What are your plans or goals for the future?

I’ve accepted a job at UPMC Presbyterian on the same unit that influenced me to become a nurse. I worked full time as a patient care technician for a year before deciding to enroll in nursing school. After some experience, I hope to further my education. My degree from Duquesne instilled confidence in my nursing knowledge and abilities to do so.
